Currently pursuing her MFA at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, ceramic artist Alwyn O’Brien (Salt Spring Island, BC) was the first recipient of the One of a Kind Show/Gardiner Museum Emerging Artist Award in 2007. Mini Bio Grown close to the St-Lawrence river, surrounded by nature.The heat of the wood, the freshness of water, the harmony of the rocks and sand. All these elements encouraged me, to create objects and furniture. I privilege a cordial report/ratio with the piece of furniture which passes by the contact of materials.
