We know our show requires a lot of logistical preparations, but we want you to have the chance to flex your creative muscles too! So, each year, we challenge exhibitors to create a one-of-a-kind piece in their medium that represents the show's competition theme. We display the entries in the Centre Aisle to give you extra exposure at the show entrance, and a panel of special judges select three winners who will receive cash prizes for their hard work and creativity, and our visitors will select a fourth winner for the People's Choice award!

There is never enough tinsel. Imagine a glorious, shiny Christmas tree glowing with lights and decorations. Elegant people in velvet, pearls, satin and cashmere. Outrageous hors d’oeuvres and delicate sweets. We want to take our visitors back to a time of maximalist decorations, opulent elegance, glitter and joy. When it come to the holidays, why go small and dull when you can go big and bright!

We cannot wait to see you take on a vintage glam Christmas. Please register your creations by Monday, October 28 and you could take pride in being a part of the well-known Central Feature exhibition and qualify to win a prize. Remember, all of you as One Of A Kind exhibitors can do your part to elevate this theme and create an immersive experience for our guests. In addition to submitting your piece for the competition display, be creative, and find ways to incorporate a little “tinsel town” spirit into your own booth! A little shiny décor, a little sparkling light, let’s transform each of the stalls at this year’s Show into a festive playground!

Our fashion shows highlight the works of our talented clothing, textile, and accessories designers. We are excited to welcome back Erika Larva of Monarch Events Group, where she will be curating daily fashion shows filled with One Of A Kind fashions.

NOTE:

• Exhibitors can submit a maximum of 4 pieces for the fashion shows; the fashion show team will select 1-2 per exhibitor.
• To participate, simply pre-package and load your fashion show submissions so that they are the first to be unloaded when you get onsite. Then, drop them off to the Fashion Show coordinators in the designated spot during move-in.
• Products will be returned to you after the last fashion show they are featured in.
• There will be the opportunity to showcase kids' fashions and accessories on weekend shows only.

About the Merchandising Area
It’s Whistler, it’s the Alps, it’s James Bond meeting his love interest wearing a white turtleneck sweater. This Winter, we are turning our merchandising area into a point of inspiration for all Winter sports enthusiasts and their friends. The Lodge will be a cozy, inviting place where even the most discerning guests would love to hang their toques after a walk in the snow. Please submit your pieces for consideration by Monday, October 28, 2024 to be included in The Lodge merchandising display.

What We Are Looking For:

• Products that fit the theme
• Exclusive products you can only find at One Of A Kind
• New products you are launching first at One Of A Kind
• A Showstopper piece you made just for One Of A Kind
• A unique product that has a great origin story

How this will work:

• Submit your information for our consideration for merchainding display. Our show decorator/stylist will review all relevant information and connect directly with the artisans on her shortlisted pieces
• Selected artisans will be provided with more info regarding product drop off during move-in
• While we will make the best attempt to showcase all shortlisted products for the display, we cannot guarantee that selected items will be used or featured as we put together the display. If your piece is not selected, you will be contacted during set up to pick up your work

Our Best Booth Awards go out to exhibitors who go the extra mile when putting together their display! Judged by visual merchandising expert Ani Nersessian of VM ID, each booth is reviewed to consider these basic criteria:

• Good Lighting: We cannot stress enough how essential proper lighting is to an effective booth display. Dim booths stand out in the aisles--and not in a good way! Make sure your booth is bright and puts the focus on your beautiful work.
• Clear Branding: You have the width of your booth to capture passing shoppers' attention--make sure you have clear signage and a well-designed space so that they can easily find you from the aisles.
• Good Use of Space: Is your booth easy to enter? Engaging? Well merchandised? Consider how your customers will interact in the space--ex. if you sell children's clothes, make sure you have room for moms with strollers.
• Creativity: This is what we're all here for, so show us your personality! Customers should get a sense of your brand and personality just from a glance at your space, whether it is through signage, colours, merchandising or display structures.

There is no need to enter--you are eligible for our Best Booth Awards just by exhibiting in the show. Winners will be announced in the onsite newsletter and on social media, plus our judge will provide a detailed breakdown of why each winner was selected.
