Introducing One Of A Kind Canvas, a new initiative at the Show where we integrate your design as a part of the show décor. This is a great opportunity for you to make the most of your time at the show, showcase your brand personality, and elevate your presence with added exposure!

There will be three opportunities for you to leave your creative mark at the Winter Show this year. Read on to find out how you can be a part of this initiative and bring your design to the forefront of the One Of A Kind audience.

To ensure we are reproducing these designs at the show in the most sustainable way, the winning designs will be printed on 3 mm eco board which will then be affixed on to hard walls. These pieces will be fully recyclable after the event.

This feature will be in the newly created Play Area for kids, which is located directly outside the Daycare and Family Centre. We are looking for someone to come up with a fun and playful design that will be made into a giant colouring wall! Visitors of all ages will be encouraged to leave their mark by colouring in your creation!

Deadline to submit: Monday, October 16, 2023

MOST IMPORTANT: Remember, you do not have to be a visual artist or a graphic designer to submit your design (although you will need to follow the file requirements listed below, so be sure to read on so you know what to expect).

THE GUIDELINES: We do not have a theme, so you are free to create whatever design you think will be best for a colouring wall. But we do have a few tips to guide you in coming up with the most fabulous design.

• The Size:
  • Artwork must fit within a rectangle, and the artwork will be scaled to be 12 feet wide by 8 feet tall
  • You can include your signature on the design. We will also produce a sign with your full name, company name and booth number to go next to the colouring wall
  • DO NOT incorporate your logo/signature as part of the design. This includes the One Of A Kind thumbprint
  • Graphics must be created in black and white with solid line work (your design should be in one colour line work, solid ink, no tints or screens of colours). Remember, you are creating a design that will be used for a colouring wall, your work should have clear outlines so it is easy for visitors to fill in colour
  • All designs must be 100% original and no copyrighted images can be used
  • We do not have a specific theme, but when coming up with your design, consider where the piece will be located. As noted, this colouring wall will be placed in the Kids’ Play Area. When coming up with your design, think about what graphics will best appeal to this group. Consider using fun shapes, inspired motifs, and interesting patterns to capture everyone’s imagination!
  • To apply, please submit your design in either a JPEG or PDF format. If your work is selected as the winning design, a high-resolution vector file must be submitted (please save and send AI file format). Please retain any high-resolution formats of your design, as a print-ready file will be needed in order to reproduce the winning design.
  • The designer of the winning entry will sign a release allowing One Of A Kind use of the image in its various expressions.

WHAT YOU WILL GET:

• The winning designer will get to see his/her/their work on full display at the Show (there will be two panels; each at 12 feet wide by 8 feet tall)
• A 22” x 28” sign next to the colouring wall with a short artist statement, your name, company name and booth number
• A professional photograph of the colouring wall installation at the Show
• A $500 cash prize

SOME DESIGN INSPIRATION:

Located in the centre aisle, the One Of A Kind Café and Bar are both popular destinations for customers looking to take a seat, grab a drink, and stop for a shopping break.   

We are seeking two designs that will act as a backdrop for the One Of A Kind Café and One Of A Kind Bar respectively.

THE GUIDELINES:

We do not have a theme, so let your imagination run wild! You also do not need to come up with a design that is café or bar specific. We do have a few specs and tips you should consider, so read on for more info!

The Size:

• Artwork must fit within a rectangle, and the artwork will be scaled to be 20 feet wide by 8 feet tall
• You can include your signature on the design. We will also produce a sign with your full name, company name and booth number to be placed in the café/bar
• DO NOT incorporate your logo/signature as part of the design. This includes the One Of A Kind thumbprint
• Graphics must incorporate our brand colours (see below for the full palette). You can use all the colours, or select a few, but they must be included in order for us to build a cohesive look for the whole show
• All designs must be 100% original and no copyrighted images can be used
• When coming up with your design, do think about where the pieces will be located. As noted, these designs will be used as the wall backdrop for the bar and café. Certain counter and furniture will obscure the view of the full wall. For this reason, you may consider using a repetitive pattern (so it acts like a wallpaper) or come up with a design that willwork in conjunction with where the furniture are going to be placed. 
• To apply, please submit your design in either a JPEG or PDF format. If your work is selected as the winning design, a high-resolution vector file must be submitted (please save and send AI file format). Please retain any high-resolution formats of your design, as a print-ready file will be needed in order to reproduce the winning design.
• The designer of the winning entry will sign a release allowing One Of A Kind use of the image in its various expressions.

The Space: 

• The wall size: 20 feet wide by 8 feet tall
• If your design is not a repetitive pattern, we recommend using this design safe zone to ensure no details are cut off:  20 feet wide by 4 feet tall
• If your design is a repetitive pattern, you can cover the full wall and design within the 20 feet wide by 8 feet tall dimension
• We will not be using the marquee lights this year, so your design will take centre stage
