PR Opportunities

Your One Of A Kind experience will benefit from PR and experimental opportunities that can help you gain exposure and grow as a brand. To take advantage of potential opportunities, CLICK HERE

What could this potentially mean to you? If you are comfortable being on camera, you could potentially be interviewed and featured on CP24, Breakfast Television, etc. Your story or images could end up in magazines, newspapers, subway ads, etc.

While media opportunities are not guaranteed, submitting the media request form will note your interest to the PR team.

Get PR-Ready!

Before and during the Show, the Mint team engages with media to coordinate coverage opportunities. You may interact with journalists or participate in media features. To represent yourself and your business well, keep these tips in mind.

1. Key Messages

Summarize your business in 2–3 sentences to clearly share your story. What do you create, how did you start, and what does OOAK mean to you? These questions help you communicate effectively.

2. Know Your Why

Sharing why you started your business is powerful. For example: “I began pottery to unwind after work, and during the pandemic, I started working in the studio more often and turned it into a full-time pursuit.”

3. Call to Action

Always end with a call to action so your audience knows where to find you:

“Shop my newest collection at booth G-31 at the One of a Kind Show, Nov 27–Dec 7!”

4. Take Control

You're the expert, so take ownership of an interview and lead where you want it to go. Ensure to be specific, target your audience, and keep it simple.

5. Be Enthusiastic

Remember, your business and story is one of a kind! Be yourself and that passion will shine through in an interview.

What is PR?

Public Relations (PR) helps share a brand’s perception, story, and information to the public through various media channels, such as traditional media (i.e. online, print, broadcast) and social media. PR results can be seen through online and print articles, interviews, broadcast segments, and influencer campaigns, to name a few.

The PR team at Mint works closely with the One Of A Kind team to help generate buzz and increase awareness around the Show. The PR team focuses on reaching local and national media outlets (i.e. CP24, CityNews, Toronto Star, etc.) to showcase the Show’s artisans, their businesses, and the stories behind them.

Prior to and throughout the Show’s duration, the Mint team continuously communicates with the media about the Show and its artisans to create and coordinate potential opportunities. To make these opportunities happen, we may request that artisans participate in an interview (live/virtual/email q+a), provide more info on themselves or their business, or provide product for a segment or giveaway, and more. However, everything is done to the comfort level of the artisan.
